Loree Westbrooks has been teaching theatre and drama for 27 years in many local schools as well Dallas Theatre Center, Repertory Company Theatre, KD Studios, and Capers for Kids. She is a company member with Repertory Company Theatre and performs as much as she can.
Mrs. Westbrooks is a graduate of SMU with a BFA in Directing. She married her husband, Michael, in 1997 and they have 3 daughters, Hannah (student at UNT), Olivia (student at Texas Tech), and Phoebe (student at OKCU).
Her favorite part of teaching drama is watching a child explore a new character, and suddenly they are no longer confined to using their own words and feelings but are able to have the freedom of being someone else. Her classes are not about learning performance skills, but human skills: empathy, eye contact, awareness, non-verbal communication, creativity, and respect.
